Fast Freight by Eliza Gilkyson
Appearing on Eliza's album The Nocturne Diaries, the song was written by her father Terry Gilkyson, who had a successful career as a songwriter and folk singer primarily in the 50s and 60s. The original version is a classic "high lonesome" tune with a train beat.
For Eliza's version, we went for a more Morricone spaghetti western feel.
I shot this video using a Canon 60D DSLR and my iPhone 5 in various locales around Austin. It features Ray Bonneville, who played harmonica on this and other songs, as a sort of ethereal hobo spirit.
